Relationship Therapy
Relationship or couples therapy can be an intimidating endeavor. We work diligently with individuals and couples who want to work on redefining, understanding, and strengthening their relationships.
We’ve earned a reputation for being down-to-earth, honest, and direct with our clients. We have a strong belief that you get out of therapy what you put into therapy. It is vital that the tools you are given be implemented in your daily life to create lasting and healthy relationships.
Sex Therapy
Sex therapy is a specialized form of talk therapy designed to help clients who are experiencing difficulties with their sexuality and/or achieving sexual satisfaction. Certification in sex therapy requires extensive training and supervision in the field of sexuality.
We specialize in helping clients through a multitude of sexual experiences and/or struggles, including but not limited to:
- Working with men looking to address premature or rapid ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, and low sexual desire.
- Treating women’s sexual health issues such as low sexual desire, anorgasmia, sex during and after pregnancy, negative body image, sexuality during and after menopause, and genito-pelvic pain/pain disorder (sexual pain disorder).
- Helping clients move beyond the shame, powerlessness, and negative thoughts that sexual trauma can often bring.
We are an LGBTQIA+-friendly certified sex therapy practice. We celebrate and welcome clients from all backgrounds, beliefs, and persuasions. Alt-relationship configurations are welcome. We encourage you to come as you are.
Kink-Aware & Fetishes
Kink-aware practitioners are therapists, coaches, and educators that have additional training and insight into the diverse expressions of sexuality.
We enjoy providing therapy and coaching for clients involved in the kink, leather, BDSM, Fetish, etc. lifestyle. We have extensive training in these areas of sexuality.
Premarital Counseling
For couples planning to marry in the Camp Hill, Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and Hershey region, Dr. Andreya Jones has developed a 6-session premarital counseling course that covers the most common struggles couples face.
After working with couples for years, Dr. Andreya Jones began to see recurring themes with her married and divorcing clients. Based on this experience, Dr. Jones developed a 6-session pre-marital course that addresses the most common struggles and themes that couples can experience.
Pre-Marital counseling is a great opportunity to learn the tools needed to sustain a healthy long-term relationship.
Each session focuses on a specific topic where couples are able to discuss their strengths, fears, expectations, and areas of weakness.
By proactively addressing these issues in pre-marital counseling, we can identify and implement tools and strategies that will last a lifetime.
Sex Therapy for LGBTQIA+ Clients
As sex and relationship specialists we know that when working with clients who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community we cannot approach these relationships in the same way that we approach heterosexual relationships. The emotional, relational, and sexual dynamics can be vastly different in this community. These relationships require providers to have different perspectives, tools, and ways of thinking when working with these clients.
When working with individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community it is important to know that behavior is what a person does, which is not necessarily the same as how they identify. How an individual identifies refers to how they conceptualize themselves inwardly. We understand that behavior and identity do not have to match, although for some individuals they do. Who someone is attracted to does not have to match either behavior or identity. An individual can identify as gay and still be attracted to or even have sex with members of other genders. An individual may identify as straight while engaging in fantasy or sex involving members of the same gender. An individual can identify as one gender on some days and another gender on other days. Identity, attraction, and sexuality can shift throughout time and are fluid. We also understand that for some individuals, these things do not shift.
We provide sex therapy, relationship therapy, and individual therapy to LGBTQIA+ clients in Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg, Hershey, and the East/West Shore. Our therapeutic approach is supportive, collaborative, and integrative. We work to tailor treatment approaches to the needs of our clients and to collaborate on identifying goals. We strive to help clients gain insight, improve communication, rekindle intimacy, and strengthen coping skills. Our clients appreciate our warm and accepting style.
Sex Therapy and Reproductive Wellness
As sex and relationship specialists we understand the intricacies of navigating one’s sexual wellness throughout reproductive life events. Women face a myriad of emotional, cognitive, physiological, and sexual changes directly related to these experiences. Whether it be infertility, pregnancy, miscarriage, postpartum, termination decisions, menopause, or pelvic and vulvovaginal pain disorders, we are here to guide you through these events and changes.
For many women, difficulties and unique challenges accompany their reproductive life events. When you run into these hurdles, complicated emotions and questions may arise. We are here to work alongside of you as you determine what steps to take next to best cope with these struggles.
Family Therapy
Some of the most important relationships in our lives are those that we have with our children and families. Every family is unique and goes through different ups and downs. Like any other relationship, we believe that working through difficult feelings and experiences with your family can be extremely helpful and healing. Family therapy is a type of psychotherapy that helps individuals work through hard situations and feelings, improve communication, and create healthy connections. Whether you are struggling with parenting, processing how to care for your elderly family member(s), or simply trying to work through a specific situation, family therapy can be a helpful tool.
For individuals who have teenagers and are attempting to navigate the nuances of parenting in an ever-changing world, we offer a safe space where you and your teen(s) will feel seen, heard, and valued. We would be honored to walk along side of individuals who have experienced the loss of a family member and are seeking help to process and grieve. We enjoy working with individuals who have experienced familial trauma. We work diligently to help these clients identify and implement healthy boundaries.
About Us
At Andreya Jones Counseling we work collaboratively to create a non-judgmental therapeutic space for clients to speak freely about the most taboo yet pervasive topic in America… Sex.
We help clients explore kinks & BDSM, alternative relationships, navigate boundaries in relationships, discuss and process erotic differences, heal from emotional & sexual trauma, address issues relating to desire discrepancies & sexual dysfunction, LGBTQIA+ issues, overcome shame & anxiety around sex, as well as other issues.
Sex therapy requires effort and being able to think outside of the box. All of our practitioners use trauma-informed interventions and tools. Our clinical techniques vary based on the goals identified by the client(s) and the training and/or specialty of each therapist or coach. Some of the interventions we use include a combination of talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapies, mindfulness, somatic-based sex and relationship techniques, Eye Movement Integration (EMI), and sensate focus therapy.
We are sex-positive practitioners who embrace individuals and couples of all races, genders, sexual orientations, personalities, sizes, beliefs, cultures, & all forms of sexual expression.
